Because 7, 8, 9

Why is eight afraid of seven?

This is what the world doesn't know. Just because eight is a little rounder than seven's slim ass, that doesn't mean eight is a monster and going to ruin seven's life. No, eight, is kind, smart, willful, intentional, motivated, and has a purpose, just like seven. It's not there to be made an example of.

Today, Oprah Winfrey is a little richer. Because she invested in Weight watchers, stock price skyrocketed.

There is so much money to be made on people that look like eights. I mean, I understand that there are medical reasons for losing weight, and that there are all these associated illnesses to being overweight. But that doesn't mean you have to target every single person in America and tell them that unless they have the physique of a seven, they are worthless. The messed up part of it all, is that we are groomed from a young age to be consumers.

According to NPR, "American kids see, on average, three to five ads for fast food per day. And about 50 percent of all ads directed at children are for food.

In other words we spend too much eating, after we are told how great life is with all this food. Then we spend too much money trying to lose the weight, because they tell us how great life can be without it! Some are not as nice as others.

Nichole Arbour's fat shaming video went viral on YouTube and Facebook. This almost made me close my Facebook account... Almost. Check it out... There are better ways to motivate people, BTW.

So if you're as angry as I am with that video, and you don't have to be fat to angry at this by the way, hit them where it hurts the most; Their wallets. Stop going to restaurants all together, eat only fresh sustainable, fruit, vegetables, lean meats that you can cook at home. Another thing you can do is not spend any money on weight loss products like: gyms, equipment, videos, or manufactured products specifically made to make you lose weight. There are always exceptions to the rule. For example, if you need to lose fourth pounds or more, you need help from a doctor/ nutritionist that you can see through your health insurance. I'm on the Transform program through Kaiser.

Although it's not covered through my insurance, one IS required to have insurance to be in the program. They run you through a series of medically monitored tests: full panel of blood tests, EKG, and minor psychological evaluation. Following a program as simple, yet difficult and expensive, program such as this says that you're finally helping yourself in ways that matter to your life.

At any rate, understanding the value of life, especially that of your own, keeps fear away. Learn, process, and apply that witch works for you. Remember, eights, you're just as valuable as any seven. Keep up the good work slowly and steadily, on a moment-by-moment basis; you're small wins will eventually accumulate and become HUGE wins... get it???
